Now that Sonny is gone

Well, it has been an interesting week indeed...

First, we start with Sonny Bill finally signing to play Rugby Union

Second, I am miffed with work and wouldn't mind signing for someone else

Third, I find out someone else is leaving Voda (via Facebook)
Also, find out that we have competition ala Super League breakaway with another Ex Voda gatherings (also via FB).

Finally, I think we need an execuse to celebrate spring...

OOH Yeah and this week will mark the commencing of the 26th Olympic Games in Beijing...

Ok, so I haven't planned anything other than a date 5th September....

If you accept the event make a suggestion of where to go and I'll book it....Please keep in mind...it will need to be somewhere in town.

Ok....Gotta get back to my project so look forward to your responses.

Behold, it was X-mas E.V.E.

Behold, it was X-mas E.V.E. & to celebrate 4 wise men and 8 fair Damsels arrived at Fox Studios…In a night that started with warmth and the glow of a beautiful sunset and ended with wonderful celebrations of another year gone. To be sure the atmosphere was authentic for Christmas a cool breeze blew in and fire had to be lit.

The food was great and the company even better…

Highlights included:
Menu was great and wine selection just perfect
People showing up on time for the ones that showed up (13 out of 26)
The number of times things came up via an SMS (for the absentee) more on that later
Have to explain to the restaurant owner that “…no really more people said they will be here…”

The wonder of the evening was the induction of Anthony into a Premier league and not to mention an open invitation for him to all E.V.E. events (if there ever is another one). But I guess you had to be there to share…

This brings me to the wonder of which political party was campaigning in Sydney last night? And more importantly why were they handing out Viagra? I can see you are puzzled… But, when you get the number of SMSs I received to advise me that people weren’t going to show because something “CAME UP”…It had me singing “I’m a believer!”

Just so I am not having a go at everyone…I understand the people that had work commitment and I appreciate the phone calls from all three “gentlemen”

For the ones that have not bothered to respond or sent me an email or SMS ONE hour before they werr meant to be there I have one thing to say…Yes means I will be there…not maybe if I could I would.

Finally, this was the last E.V.E. event.

Over and out from a very miffed Secretary.

A Huge turn out expected

G'day people well we have so far 23 acceptances and (I am ) confirmed attendees to X-mas E.V.E. Very impressive turnout indeed...

Now the business end...I have added a Poll closing on Monday for the choices of mains...The down side of have so many people attend is that we would need to go for a package deal...

Seeing that i know the owners well I have been able to negotiate that we get the X-mas special $55 four course menu for $50 dollars and instead of being restricted to 2 entrees and 2 mains...it has been revised to 3 entrees and 3 mains...Please vote if you don't someone else may decide for you...Majority rules

All vegeterians will be accommodated for by email request...please check out the menu at
http://arthouseblue.com.au/events.html

PS the Triple Mud chocloate cake is to die for...forget the diet that day...Also fight for the garlic prawns and Veal

Hope to see you all there...

PS if you haven't RSVP...Please call me or RSVP via FaceBook urgent...

have a great weekend

Return of E.V.E. To the Gardens of Eden

Dear friends,
Although I believe I may have wished you all a Happy New Year already…this one is in the capacity of EVE Secretary…
The time has come for us to congregate in celebration…I declare the EVE committee open for 2007…
After many requests and persistence of some I have decided to take it upon me to send the email out…Although, I will not take the credit for being the brain behind this gathering…
Ms George definitely takes the cake and should anyone offer on the night…make sure its chocolate…
The "Return of EVE to the Gardens of Eden"…is our theme for the evening would perhaps to remind EVE what got her cast out of the garden…
snakes or forbidden fruit e.g. apple or perhaps something green representing the leaves…
Although, this has been set-up as an Ex Vodafone' Employees (EVE), I wish to extend the invitation for you as founding members to invite others into this IT professionals community.
As you are all aware there is always a time for us where we work when a role comes up and you recall someone whom you would think be ideal for the role if only you can get in touch with them somehow… Well now we can as I believe that everyone on this list I would have no hesitation working with them or recommending them to anyone I know…
Okay…Now for the important details:
Where:
Wagamama King Street Wharf
When:
Friday 23rd March 2007 6:30 pm…(allows people working outside the city a chance to get in to town without too much of a rush)
This is the last Friday of day light savings so we can all have an extra hour to recover on Sunday morning…
Please RSVP by no later than Monday 5th March 2007…so we can secure the booking
What else:
Drinks before hand for those working in the city can be organised at
Either
http://www.bavarianbiercafe.com.au/
Or
Slip Inn
After Dinner drinks/activities (majority rules)

You Better watch out

You better watch out, you better not cry

Better not pout, I'm telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list and checking it twice

Gonna find out who's naughty and nice

Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping

He knows when you're awake

He knows if you've been bad or good

So be good for goodness sake

Oh! You better watch out, you better not cry

Better not pout, I'm telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town
